Torque Anyone? U-Joint Project...
Ok, I've tried for the past few hours to get the 1-11/16" main nut off my truck and have had NO luck.
I've saturated and am currently soaking the nut with a rust bolt breaker compound. I know it's at 180ft/lbs +/-... but a 3 ft breaker bar ( plus a redneck tube for added length ) still wont budge the nut. Breaks hold the rotor tight and nothing wants to move. ( amusing point : used an old screw driver at one point to pin the rotor to the brake frame - it's now at 90 deg. lol )
Any ideas short of taking it to a shop?

geta 1" or 3/4" impact gun, and it'll come right off. or, add a bigger cheater bar to your breaker bar. i've used bars that were almost 10 feet long...sometimes you need leverage. and uhh.... make sure the cotter pin is out of the nut before you crank on it...
