Keep these in mind - the abs and brake lights have been on for about 3 months as well as the non functional speedometer.

I just put a new manifold back magnaflow exhaust on my dodge. Sounds mint. 2 new oxygen sensors (1 upstream and 1 downstream [fixed the check engine light that was on]). New vehicle speed sensor (trying to fix the speedo). Changed the transmission filter/gasket/fluid and rear differential gasket/fluid.

Now my problem is I still have the whole abs/brake light + speedo doesnt go over 55 mph issue. And as matter of fact the service engine light soon also tripped again. I'm purely baffled. The truck has some ball to it but it won't roast the tires like my buddies 98 5.2L a/t. I can make gas pedal meet floor board in drive with a light brake application and it just revs without anything. I am kind of stumped. My guess is that theres another speed sensor somewhere but where? I do not know. Ill add a revision to the post when I figure out what codes set for the SES light. Any ideas for now though, please let me know.

I suspect the speed sensor in the rear diff would be a good start

 

question about your question (whole abs/brake light + speedo doesnt go over 55 mph issue). now does it work until you get to 55 or does it not work until you get to 55 ? my abs and parking brake light comes on at 60 mph . dealer has no idea.
