ok well i want to get a leveling kit for my truck ('98 1500 4x4) and well the guy i talked to at my local 4x4 shop said that i would need to purchase new shocks along with the new kit, is this true?
well, whether my shocks or my springs, everytime i go over a speed bump at just the right speed (10-15mph) i get a loud thud because they bottom out. i just had the shocks replaced not tooo long ago, just cheepos though, they werent ranchos or anything
before i went with a 3" lift , stock on a lift would drop 3-4" thats extended all the way but of course this is a 96 truck.. didnt think u need lift shocks to put on a leveling kit , and what would you go with 1-3" shock ??
well, i dont quite know. what im trying to do, is get my front end level with the rear, hence a leveling kit, then im going to get, most likely, 285 75 R16 mickey thompsons (33in) ,so i dont need it raised any more, so which type of shocks should i get? just a pair of ranchos or what? thanks a bunch guys
I would try the kit without shocks first. 2" just isn't that much. If it DOES mess up your existing shocks ... no loss ... you were gonna replace them anyway.
well, im going go with the 285 Dick Cepek fun country II and a leveling kit. i like to go muddin and so when i get the leveling kit im going to get new shocks as well. i was told id have to anywho. i hope to also get an air cleaner here in a month so. hope i dont have any trouble with water or mud gettin the filter
