Default Fixing Coolant leak

I changed out the plenum gasket and plate today and now I have a coolant leak. I found thatthe gasket surface where the thermostat mounts into the intake is all pitted and won't seal. How should I go about fixing this? RTV? GBWELD? NEW INTAKE? HELP!!!!

i would try hi-temp (ultra) rtv on both sides of a new gasket. a generous, even layer about 1/16 thick. it should fill any voids. be SURE and get the old surfaces clean by scrapping with a putty knife and/or razor blade, and then wipe it down with a litle brake cleaner. careful - don't spray brake cleaner all over the place it will melt rubber and plastic.

Default RE: Fixing Coolant leak

Thanks, That's what I did last night as a temporary fix so I could gt my truck in to get the exhaust done this morning. I didn't put enough RTV on it though. It's holding OK it's just leaking slow when it's hot and pressure is built up in the cooling system. Back out to the garage to fix it for good this time.

Now I have another question. What can I get to decarb the engine. I noticed there is was a lot of carbon build up from the plenum leaking oil. Will one of those bottles of fuel treatment do the trick?
