No reverse or park.

Hi i have ran into a problem today when I came to reverse into the drive with my 5.9 2500 auto 99Ramand the lever would not allow me to shift to reverse or park it just stops! I have been underneath and disconnected the shift rod and lever and the problem appears to be at the tranny side any ideas regards Colin.
