Default Won't Sart! Well sometimes...

I just bought a 1996 1500 V8 5.9 less than 24 hours from this posting, and I gotta problem! It's an intermittent starting issue. I have power to everything inside, dash, lights, radio, etc... But absolutely nothing when I turn the key, not even a clicking. It sounds like power is going to the relay but maybe not coming out. When to AutoZone replaced relay, same thing. I did do some research on the forum and saw some things like starter brushes or bad terminal connection. I checked the battery and terminal all OK. One time I let it sit for 20 min then it cranked right up turned on/off OK tried one more time and nothing. Let sit 1hr, nothing when I tried in Drive but I put it in Neutral and it started. I am not much of a car person, just looking for suggestions so when I bring it in I have an idea of what’s happening. Thanks!

I live in Raleigh NC, if anyone what’s to take a look at it I can barter for HVAC work on your house.

From the FSM:

PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH

DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH

The center terminal of the park/neutral position switch is the starter-circuit terminal. It provides the ground for the starter solenoid circuit through the selector lever in PARK and NEUTRAL positions only. The outer terminals on the switch are for the backup lamp circuit.

SWITCH TEST

To test the switch, remove the wiring connector. Test for continuity between the center terminal and the transmission case. Continuity should exist only when the transmission is in PARK or NEUTRAL.
Shift the transmission into REVERSE and test continuity at the switch outer terminals. Continuity should exist only when the transmission is in REVERSE. Continuity should not exist between the outer terminals and the case. Check gearshift linkage adjustment before replacing
a switch that tests faulty.
