ok i got a sound coming from the back on my truck when i slide my rear window open,it rattles everytime i hit a hump or pothole at all speeds its sounds like my tailgate is loose,well i took my tailgate off an it still rattles,ive check an tighten bed bolts, stock hangers for exhaust, spring hangers,shocks, gas cover,heat sheild,the black cover's behind the rear tires,every bolt i can see,this is driving me nuts,what else could it be?

 

My rear window rattles in the sliders....drives me crazy! I just give it a good backhand....my solution to all the noise...turn up the radio or get louder exhaust

 

well i gota loud stereo an running no muffler with side exhaust in front of the back tire,no prob there i just heard the noise a day ago an its really pissing me off

 

Is it a metalic or plastic type of sound?
Have you tried the spare tire carrier?

 

I had a problem with my taillights rattling...did me the same way! get someone to ride in the bed and help you figure it out

ive tighten all bolts around spare tires carrier,took tailgate off an still rattles,it sounds like a metal rattle,just like my tailgate is loose,only thing i havent took off is my shocks to see it tthat help,even the slightest bump will make it rattle an a hard bump sounds like it goin to fall off,im clueless

 

I have the same damn problem. I've been searching for the noise for a month now. If you find it let me know what it was.

 

Your rear shock mounts could have loosened over the miles or the bushings could have shrunken (if they're rubber). Just shaking them (with weight pushing them down) might not reveal a loose condition. Ummm ... try jacking up the rear (not the axle) and see if you can unload them first.

Might you have picked up a few pebbles inside a body panel somewhere?

 

dunno illl try to jack up the back ,be honest i have tried everything, i only hear it when i slide my back window open,i could close it but its the point that i have something loose or rattleing
