Default 17 Inch Wheels for 2nd Gen?

I'm in need of some new rubber for my truck, and I was thinking of upgrading to the 17 inch wheel and tire. The idea being that it would fill up the wheel wells a little more. I currently have the P255/70R16 on the factory chrome wheels. I'm wondering what the 3rd gen premium factory wheels would look like on the 2nd gen. I believe the 3rd gen wheels are 17's, correct? As always any opinions and suggestions will be appreciated and considered.

3rd gen has 17s and the also have 20s that were stock I believe. if there is nothing wrong with your rims just go with a bigger tire like a 285

3rd Gen Rams came with standard 17'' rims or optional 20'' rims. There is a guy on Dodge Talk that used to have 20s from a '06. I think he said he had spacers.

I think I like that idea of switching back to the 75's. A lot less hassle. Would like to keep the same footprint though.

I've got some 04 wheels on my truck, and they are in fact 17". I went with some bigger tires, but bear in mind that 17" tires are about 20-50 bucks more than their 16" counterparts. I didn't require any spacers or anything. Just bolted them on and drove off. I do love the way it looks though. I'll get some pictures for you tomorrow. We just got a bunch of snow and it's dark already

Why don't you get some 17's meant for your 2nd gen ram? You can get the SST wheel or the 00-01 offroad 17's. Both of which look better then any of the 3rd gen rims I have seen IMO.
