Leaking Shraeder Port
Hey,
I have been dealing with my 00 Ram w/360 taking 5-10 sec of cranking to fire up after sitting over night/more than 20 min. The other night, for some reason, I popped the cap off the shraeder port (I think thats what its called...the test port on the fuel rail) and I could see it bubbling gas out kind of like a leaking valve stem. Whats the fix for this? Can I replace the valve thats in it? I tried to tighten it with a valve core removal tool, but Im afraid of stripping it out.
Please help! Thanks!

I agree. I did some webcrawling, but haven't come across replacements for fuel systems only A/C. Don't know if they are the same... Might try talking to some of your local parts houses. I can't imagine shops not running into this.
i was just under the hood of my truck and said what the heck, took the cap off, and it was wet, so looks like ill be runnin down to the dealer....so, whats the part# or official name? my starts seem to take longer than should also

Well, I havent gotten into town yet, and have no part number. But, when i called the guy said "let me go look in the drawer" like it is a universal part for fuel rails. And the port is called the shraeder port. Hope this helps!

interesting topic... I think I'll take a look at mine as well.. I noticed after sitting a few days it turns over fine but sometimes stumbles a bit to get going.. nothing major but maybe this could be my problems
