need help identifying transmission

Default need help identifying transmission

i have a 1996 dodge ram 2500 ext cab 4x4 it has a 5.9L (360) with a over drive transmission and have been looking for a rebuild kit fr it but not sure what transmission is in it i have done research online and the best i could come up with is it has 1 0f 3 transmissions an A518 / 46RH-RE any help would be greatly appreaciated

MonteC is correct.

The "A518" designation is, basically, a "catch all" term for the 46RH and 46RE transmissions. From 1994-1995, they used the 46RH with the 5.2L and 5.9L V8s. For 1996 until they stopped using the 5.2L/5.9L, they used 46REs.

THANK YOU! Someone gets it! Thats what we call them in the "Biz". lol. I hardly ever hear 46re.
