Default 911 help me please

my 1998 1500 dodge truck was repossesed for a few days. upon picking my truck up i realized my pcm had been switched. the one that was put in my truck actually belongs in a 1998 2500. my question is can it be programmed to work in my truck or will i have to get a new one please help me if you can

if its the same motor there shouldnt really be any difference....the difference between the 2500 and the 1500 is weight, steering, brakes, and suspension

You'll probably have to get it reprogrammed...how do know they switched it an wheres your original PCM?
I'm assuming your truck won't run...? PCMs are VIN specific for that year.
I'd be getting the police involved....

Police wont do anything because it was in repossesion. We kn ow its not ours because we had the dealer retrieve vin out of it. So it can be reprogrammed? How expensive is that? Any other options?

It doesn't matter that it was reposessed.
It was repo'd in working order and was returned non functional.
It's not like it got scratched, it doesn't work..
Get the Law involved. Or the bank that holds the note.

ya thats bull, i would look over the truck hard too see if anything else was switched out

The police said nothing they can do for us because the truck didnt belong once was repossesed so i need to know if this comp can be made to work in my truck
