Default How Much Do I Ask For

Hello All,

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Regular Cab 5.2l 4x2 - Red

I am going to be selling my truck as I am purchasing a new one. I am wondering what I should sell it for.

It has 168k for milage.
Has a brand new water pump, new shocks, new tires.
ac blows cold air
heater is not currently working
has a slight transmission fluid leak
Will have new front brakes
Needs back brakes
Has power steering fluid leak
Dashboard has cracks and hole
Has Trailer Hitch and wiring to haul travel trailer - I pulled 2500lb trailer 2 times only about 20 miles total.

Any help would be appreciated!

well.... it has high miles, needs a ton of ****, and its a regular cab. we dont know where youre located, so from what i read, i wouldnt pay more than 1-1.5k for it, and i may even offer less depending on if it has rust on it or not. i live in newhampshire, and up here rust and rot is a huge item when looking for a new(er) vehicle. i have a 2001 ram quad cab short bed 4x4 and i only paid 2800 for it almost 3 years ago, it had its share of problems, but nothing major.

Fixing those problems would add significant value. And shouldn't be all that time consuming or expensive

Just to give you an idea, I just traded in my 01 4x2 1500 regular cab short bed with 150K on it. AC was shot on it and it only had the 3.9 in it. I got $1,000 for trade in, I probably could have sold it for $1,500-2,000 privately but didn't want the hassle at the time.

Depending on your location and rust factors... I'd agree with redneck, not much, like $1,500 max.

You should ask more than some, but less than others.

Hope this helps.

My 2000 "farm truck" isn't worth the gas in the tank. lol I bought it brand new, I put all of the 189000 miles on it, its mine, and its going to stay mine. For some reason I really like that pile of ****.
