This was definitely a head-scratcher trying to install but after 2 hours I finally installed my Westin Bull bar. Those 2 big vertically installed bolts took a while for me to figure out how to remove them. After googling, I found out that I needed to clamp down the top bushing in order for the bolt to come out. I went a good hour and fifteen minutes with breaks in between each try, trying to remove the first bolt. Holding that 1/2 breaker bar was not easy. Anyways, glad I got it after contemplating whether or not to buy it.

If you know what to do off-the-bat, then its not so hard. If I knew what I had to do going into it, it probably would have only taken me 30-45 minutes to install. Basically at the of each vertical bolt is a bushing like paid w/ a metal plate covering it. You have to clamp down (as tight as you can) that metal plate. My tip when clamping down the metal plate is to just clamp it down on the side, not the very middle. At first, I tried calling down the very middle and I wasn't going anywhere then I just clamped down a side of the circle plate and I was able to break-free and remove the bolts.

Dakotaff, thanks and that is indeed the thread that got me over the hump. I didn't have any clamps like that, but I had much better luck fitting my gigantic hands in there from under the truck. BTW, your truck in your sig looks great. What size tires are those and do you have lift? Thanks.

Tires are 265/70/17, with a Trailmaster 1.5" leveling kit.
