you could always get the tailgate and the top edge Rhinoline'd I had the whole bed done, and on the tailgate they went over the top edge to protect that too...
I have the Mopar spoiler ..... I love it for looks. It gets in the way when hauling 2x4s and stuff though with the tailgate up. Every time I drag something across it, I normally have a noticable mark.
I got it after I was rear ended so the body shop installed it. However, if your looking to do it yourself; probably moderate level of difficulty. Its held on by screws on both sides, so youll have to tap them in to the sheet metal. Not exactly something a person who doesnt know what they are doing, should do. Line it up, drill some pilots and set the screws. If your comfortable with that, then youre good to go.

Oh dont worry guys, Ill be parting everything out (If I just dont get another Dakota with less miles) but the only problem is the spoiler has to stay. Its screwed in to the tailgate on both sides, so there would be holes left in there.
But you should just spend the $80; it adds alot to the back of the truck. Its a "bang for your buck" mod. Plus, you can make your truck look like an 08+ from the rear end

Me too.
I have the EGR - Tailgate Cap Textured black and side rails, Note if you buy these rent some clamps from Home Depot and clamp them down, the front edges on mine pop up from time to time......that is only a problem if you dont have a tonneau cover....my problem is now solved.
