Default wipers?

New to me '08 Dakota. The wipers only wipe when I press the end for a wash job. Turning the **** end results in no activity. Looking for a guess as to whether this is a ground problem or a switch problem. Is it common? There aren't any other posts about it, so maybe not. Luckily, we have not had much rain. This will be a warranty fix, anyway, but just want to have some idea before I just turn it over to the dealer. Thanks.

My truck did this when I first test drove it. The dealer fixed it no problem. There is something inside the lever that turns and adjust the voltage going to your wiper motor. Mine internals didn't spin so he ordered a new lever and just swapped it out and viola, problem solved. phew.... hope I explained it clearly lol.

Default Thanks to all

Picture can be arranged (as soon as I figure out how). I call it decidedly red. Did not want to get into the column anyway, so I'll let Bill handle it. Thanks to all.
