Cool Progress!!!

Ok, So after a few months of nothing on this project, I finally got something made. Here it is. I have the draw tube/frame made. I took and made the skins out of cardboard just cause a 4x8 sheet of that is only 10 bucks at lowes, and the diamond plate is 80+. I have a few modifications and 4 other parts that need to be made, but this is just a start of it.

I am thinkin of coming up with a way of mounting the orrigional bumper to this.

I have reinforcement brackets for the 1/16" plate that this mounts too, but i didnt (and dont as i type this) have the hardware to mount them.

This feels like my 15th revision of the skins.

On both sides, I need to add an inch under the headlights and shorten the width by an Inch and a half.

I have not yet cut out the side plates, the top plates, or brush guards.

I need to make a mounting bracket for the factory headlights. I got them tore apart, just gotta take a few measurements and make the darn things.

I think that it sticks out a little too far, but ill work with what i got. I can re design this so that it doesnt stick out SOO friggen far. (my bad)

So what do yall think? It is not perfect, but i think that it will fit good once made out of steel.

Glad to see that you got started on this!

I have been playing around with your drawings, and have also started CNC cutting wood for a mock up!

I have had the reciever made since september, just before i started dating my girlfriend. (And I wonder why i quit workin on the project for a while???)

Dude, unless ya do like the thing stickin way the f*** out there, mount the main tube dirrectly to the 3/8" plate, and cut the back out of those d-tabs. I wished that i did that. But oh well, im goin with it now. Trust me, it sticks out a LONG ways now. It will save you atleast 2 inches.
