The HEMI and the old 5.2L Magnum V8 take the same thermostat?

 

no but they fit! i read it on here somewhere. i went with jet since it is designed for our trucks and is a fail safe.

can one of the mods move this out of general?

 

Yes, but they need to be slightly modified.

I've been running the Jet 180 in my Hemi since the spring of '05...

 

MitsuRaider and I both run 180 stats without modifying to match the factory stat's notch..the notch is tiny and is designed to hold the seal on there better/snug but the new seal I purchased which was made for a 3.7/4.7 did not even have the little prominent piece of rubber on the inside of the seal. Other than fitting the seal on more snug that little notch serves no purpose. Maybe I lucked out though since I bought a new seal to put on the new stat

 

Yup, just dropped in the new one, no mods whatsoever.... I've had it with no issues for quite some time too
