Default The Towing Question Again D:

Well I have read alot of the Towing posts, Some helpful some not so much.

So ill be helping my buddy tow a 22" Cabin Cruiser he bought, He says the trailer is in Great shape, Boats Fiber Glass.

The old owned used to tow it with a V8 Dakota (Not sure if Gen2 or 3)
Mines a 05 Club Cab, V6, Auto, 2wd /w Tow Package and Monroe Load-Adjusting Shocks
Not sure what gears I have, Right now I have a work F-150 home so I cant check.

Ill be doing a complete check on the oil, and such before I leave, and will be running Tow/Haul the whole way.

This will be the heaviest and longest thing Ive towed. Normally I tow a 11' (total length) Utility Trailer.

The Hightway has a few hills, 1 that is steep (The On-Ramp is a 1/4 of the way up it)

I have not had the Transmission Fluid flushed or Filter replaced Also have not had the Coolant flushed / replaced, or Differential Fluid Done.
Those were thing on my list to get done, This only came up a day ago.

As long as you are not running an e-fan and are still running your clutch fan, you will be fine. Just don't expect to be flying up the hills, lol.

You should be alright. Make sure your brakes are not too wasted

The Front are about 6 months old, I had the Calipers, Rotors and Pads replaced. The Rear are ok, but should be replaced soon. Ive never had any issues braking towing a few hundred pounds. But this exceeds that by alot. I plan to be very cautious, give lots of room for braking and such.
