Default Did I ruin my air filter?

When cleaning my aftermarket air filter I used the same foam pad cleaner that came with my Maguires wheel polishing kit. Do any of you know that if using a cleaning solution like this will ruin the integrity of the air filter Or clog it up somehow?

The active ingredient in the k&n filter cleaner is sodium metasilicate. I would check out what you cleaned it with and if its the same or similar your fine.

I've done that before. Is your aftermarket a K&N? If so, just be sure to spray it with oil again. I've used purple power to clean mine.

It's an AFE filter. It's a dry one that doesn't use oil. Part of the reason I chose it. I got it back in the next day after letting it completely dry. So far no problems that I can tell. I'll check the cleaner and see what the main chemical is in it

I checked the bottle and it looks like it looks like it does use metasilicates. So I think I should be ok.
