Thank God for Discount Tires - got new tires!
For the past decade, the people at Americas / Discount Tires have always been great to me. Today was certainly one of the best. Nearly a month ago, i purchased a set of 17" MB TKO wheels woth 245-65-17 Falken Rocky Mountains (wild peaks) A/T tires. At first all was good but then I started more and more wobble from the front tires, then, soon after the rears as well. Took them back twice to discount tire to have them mounted and rebalanced and the same problems kept occurring so I told them I wasnt satisfied and wanted to upgrade to some BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain T/A tires in same soze. Rather than spending the extra $124 difference, they decided to pay the difference and sipe my tires for free as well. My impression of the falken rocky mountains is that they were awesome when they rode evenly. I often would also lose grip of the rear wheels when accelerating on wet roads. However, the wheels were very smooth and quiet. I actually went 10 miles offroading doing lots of ups and downs and I did get stuck once on a one-way road when I had to reverse for another car was coming from the opposite direction. However, the wheels did hold their own offroad and there were tons of rocks, pot holes, wet leafs, and several steep inclines and declines in that 10 mile path. The bfg rugged terrains look very similar to the rocky mountains. However, the ride has been much more
Balanced and stable compared to the falkens. The rugged terrains are just a bit noisier than the falkens but ive had no problems losing grip in wet weather and have been everything I hoped the falkens would have been.
