Default Tuner now available for 2011 Dakota

I know this affects a select few of you but there is now a tuning option for the 2011 Dakota. Bullydog has confirmed their GT Hemi Plus tuner works on the 2011 Dakota with the 4.7 V8. Am going to see if I can empty the coin bank and pick one up.

I am curious as to how the Bullydog unit works on the Dakotas. Please keep us updated.

In the past for the 2nd Gen Rams, I always read about Bullydog being one of the worse options for gas trucks.

And this was in the back of my mind. I really can't find any good info on an Ram guy with a 4.7 that has used the Bullydog tuner. But options here are limited. Except for......

I had also spoken with Don Yates at Arrington Performance (shophemi.com). These were the guys that either still are or used to be Chrysler ECU programmers. Or they knew the guys that were. Either way that had some method to program before anyone else did. They did tell me I could send them a 2010 PCM and they could flash it to work in my 2011 Dakota. This would allow me to use a normal tuner from Superchips or even get an SCT dynotune from someone like Hemifever. That is a costlier route. It would be the cost of a PCM + $350 to them to flash + tuning once that part is over. Likely $1000 to $1500 dollars.

I believe this was the path and same shop that one guy used on the Ram board before there was any tuning available for the 2011+ Ram. He's running a 2010 PCM with a Superchips tuner on top of that.
