This post will show the two different 3rd brake lights that fit our Dakotas. The first one is the ICPW light, with 6 LED lights. I picked up the second one, which has 10 LEDs. (Installed pics here)Originally Posted by VPad54
not to hijack the thread but what LED cargo light do you have, is it the IPCW one?
And the LED cargo lights were a nice improvement also.

I have the same but the smoked one. It looks good. My only complaint is that it was a little hard to install since it is made for gen 2 but it fits fine and looks good. I have a dead bug in mine that I can't get out Originally Posted by dakotaff

need to go in there with a hook or pick and try to remove itI replaced my license plate and cargo lights with LED last year, so that's another route you can go. I think if you replace the brake light with a regular LED it'll flag that bulb is burnt because it's not pulling enough power. I'm not sure as I didn't replace that one... also not sure if you use one of those canbus error free ones if that will fix the problem. I also read somewhere if you do swap it, you need to get a red LED bulb instead of white despite the lens being red. I'd like to swap all the external rear lights with LED, but I don't want to mess with transistors to make them work.
On another note I bought different brands for my cargo/license plate lights than ones I bought for my overhead console. Maybe I'll swap them out and see if the fade comes back with them. Originally I bought 5xSMD's for the cargo/license and I bought 20-SMD's for the overhead. I'm betting the 20's might be better in the cargo light.

I did notice my lights fade out if you open the door sit in the truck and wait. But starting the truck they immediately go out. I also think opening the door they immediately come on. Seems to happen with either bulb.

I put blue LED in the front and rear dome lights. Got mine from ebay and it will sometimes take a little while before they fade out completely.

That light isnt a standard "bulb" Its like a connector, bulb, window, and a bezel piece in one. I thought about replacing it. But I installed Blue LED Floor Accent lights, So I dont overly notice the small green anymore lolOriginally Posted by adamjeeps
Has anyone replaced the bulb that lights up the cupholders with led? Would love to go blue or white instead of instrument panel green!
