Not that as Dakota owners we have been orphaned I wonder what the future holds. Sure, our trucks are still new and shiny but looking back at models that have been dropped is not encouraging. After a few years they all look beat up. Anybody has examples of what became of discontinued models?

This belongs in the general discussion section. Moving there now.

My next purchase (three years down the road or more) will probably be a Durango, although those will be discontinued by then as well, or so I read. Fiat/Chrysler are supposedly cancelling it in favor of the Grand Cherokee, since they are similar enough that they are competing against one another.

Durango is similar to a Cherokee? Cherokee is a Jeep! Completely different clientele. This is what happens when you let Fiat make product decisions. They don't know culture. How is that Dodge "Dart" doing by the way?
