Break In
My brother was borrowing my Dakota last weekend. He lives in a really nice gated apartment complex in Columbia but it's only a few miles from a pretty bad part of town.
Anyways, my truck was broken into and they stole his personal laptop, his work laptop, and his external hard drive that both laptops were backed up onto. The cops had the mindset of "Well, that's unfortunate." and luckily (and surprisingly) so did his work.
Luckily for me the they must have used a jimmy because there was no damage to the truck. Just sucks for my brother.
Moral of the story, don't leave visible valuables in your truck and make sure the alarm is set.

Or he forgot to lock the truck . . .
We have a guy that wanders through our neighbourhood every few weeks, checking car doors. He only takes change, Canadian Tire money, and small items he can use. He leaves GPS units, phone charges, that kind of thing. Although he did get my prescription sunglasses and the flip-flops I uses in the shower at the gym.
Kinda negates the use of back-ups if he keeps them all together, doesn't it?
Anyhoo, sucks to be him, glad they didn't blemish your truck.
