Default Cherry bomb glasspack

I'm looking to delete the muffler and resonators and replace it with a cherry bomb glasspack. Has anyone done this; is it going to be too loud? I'm just concerned about pissing off the neighbors. Also, if the tailpipe on the Dakota is 2.5", do I get a glasspack with an inlet/outlet size of 2.5" or 2.25"?

I welded on a pair (true dual) on a 1973 Nova SS I had in the mid 80s. It was offensive to the neighborhood. Although I had a Cherry Bomb Extreme muffler on my '04 Hemi Ram from '08 til I sold it last year and my neighbors weren't exactly thrilled either, especially on sat and sun when I worked a side job at a golf course and left the house at 5:15 am...

Glass pack with resonator delete will be stupid loud. Get the same size in and out as the pipes and have it welded in.

If you're keeping the catalytic converter in place, it should be reasonable. At least Cherry Bombs are cheap enough that you don't have to feel too bad about changing it if you end up hating it.

How loud vs. stock? If I ran it all the way to the back over the rear axle where it is now would there be any drone in the cab? And I was looking to just clamp it in, would I still go with the same size as the pipes?

What's too loud for me, may not be too loud for you. Listen to some sound clips, there are plenty on youtube and on these forums. Crank them up on some decent speakers, but the sound will be different in person of course. Stick with 2.5" exhaust, and keep a resonator on if you don't want to go too loud.

But loud is sometimes good...

I did 3" from the Cats back with my Hooker aerochamber muffler, but on the 08 4.7L had 2.75" from the factory. I had that done last week and am quite pleased. Quiet at idle and under 1700RPM, but nice and mean when a guy steps on it.

I still have everything stock cats up but did a single side dump cherry bomb. Had dual flowmasters before which weighed about 60 friggin lbs and never fit right. Have got much better torque out of the single and think the glasspack actually sounds alot better. Drone isn't too bad all just depends where the pipe exits. And did a weld on the inlet/outet seems obviously more solid. Also stayed with the 2.25" cherrybomb in and out
