Default new type of tire (all weather)

I know that i don't have my Dakota anymore, but i just love you guys and can't seem to stop reading the forum and giving my 2 cents where i can... or in Canada i guess that would be 5 cents since we got rid of the penny.

Anyways, i don't remember seeing anyone mention anything about the new type of tire out there. a lot of us, and i did when i had my Dakota, use all terrain tires year round. My new vehicle, a 2012 AWD Kia Sorento, needed a new set of tires. I went to my local tire shop and discussed my needs (snow and ice in winter, gravel and mud in summer and a mix in the fall when i go hunting) and they talked to me about all weather tires. Specifically he showed me the Nokian Rotiiva AT tires. These look like all terrain tires, but with extra sipping and will not wear excessively in summer. Many other all weather tires look like all season tires cross bread with winter tires but the Rotiia AT were different. I find that they kinda look like the Toyo Open Country AT 2 tires but with a solid middle rib.

Anyways, i'm in the middle of a snowstorm right now, got over 6 inches today, and expecting another 6 overnight and into the morning, so far, these tires are AMAZING. Great traction on snow and ice, and from the info from the dealer and other online reviews, great traction in mud also, while not being super noisy. from the side, they don't look super aggressive, but the tread is incredible.

Anyways, i wanted to tell you guys about my experience with these. i'll post a few pics later this weekend of the tires so you guys can see what they look like. i know it's not a Dakota, but i just had to share.

So far, with one day in, i'm super impressed. did a bit of highway driving, and had to go down a snow packed country road and the tires felt great. i also had to get at least 50 KM (30 miles or so) so i can go get my wheels retorqued.
