Pick your battles. I’d at least inquire from your insurance before taking on FCA.

In the state that I live in like many other states any civil issue less then $10,000 goes to small claims court in which there are no motions and its simple each side tells there story then a judge decides.

a company the size of FCA tries to get things caught up in litigation small claims court its simple did your product cause the damage if so x amount will fix the damage caused

I'm planning to take console heated switches from an 05 junk Dakota near me and possibly some leather heated seats from a raider at a different yard. Am I putting my truck at risk? The junked Dakota's drivers seat has a burn hole I thought was a cigarette burn issue until I learned about the recall.

Does FCA know what the source of the problem is? The switches, a wiring issue that prevents turn off, the seat warmers?

The problem is the heated seat element, which overheats and causes either a burn mark or possibly setting the seat on fire. If you pulled only the switches, they're fine to use.

The Raider (Dakota clone) came out as a 2006 model, so the seats should be fine. The Raider did not have the same flaming seat issue.
