Introduction (finally!)
So I finally have time to introduce myself after joining in January and to tell my tale of joy to tragedy and back to joy again.
My name is Doug, I live in the northwest corner of lower Michigan. In January I finally got back into a truck after far to many years in a minivan, A 2007 Dakota quad cab 4X4 ST. V6 (because I drive 60 mi round trip to work), 144,000 miles, relatively clean (for a Mich. truck), no real options except the important ones, 3:92 gears, limited slip and trailer towing package.
Did a few upgrades ('cause it's white), black headlights, black grill and Bushwacker fender flairs. Bought the 5" combo lift, differential drop brackets, Rancho struts and a few other goodies sitting in the pole barn waiting for warmer weather......and then tragedy struck....
After raining the day before and getting down to around 32 degrees overnight, On April 2nd I was on my way to work, hit a patch of black ice and rolled my truck, landing on the drivers side.
On a good note, my new grill and the fender flares came out unscathed. The truck not so much or my neck for that matter. In the month or so of my recovery I patiently waited for word from my insurance company for a figure on the Dakota I paid $4,700. for. I expected (hoped)between 3-4 thousand.
After a month and a half they presented me with $6,187. if they take the truck or $5,418 if I keep the truck.....I kept the truck.
My plan for the Dakota is to make it a run around these 20 acres of woods truck (it still runs and drives), without fenders I'm going to cut until 35" tires fit, LOL
My new Dakota, 2006 SLT V6 4X4 with 103,000 miles and super clean. And yes, the snow is gone....finally.

I did not see your second post when I responded, that's strange. At least you made a few bucks while rolling a Dakota, a small bonus for your pain I guess.
Best of luck with the new(er) Dakota, it looks to be in great shape.
