Actually, I was more curious about the reception from actually buying a stubby one...not cutting the OEM. I've seen them on other vehicles, they're like 6-12" tall.

On my brothers Magnum RT the antenna is built into the rear window defroster grid. It seems to work as good as the one on my truck. I was surprised those old 70s GMs with the antenna built into the front windshield really sucked. I think it really gives the car a streamlined look not having the antenna sticking out.

I cannot really see the difference between a stubby and a OEM full size antennea. I mean, you might have issues outside of major urban areas, but for daily communters or city drivers, I think it would not make any difference. I think I just found a nice new mod for my truck, an nice black stubby.

Ya pretty much as long as your truck isn't submerged in water, or under cement, get a satellite radio.

You'd like it more. Regular radio sucks.

XM FTL...

XM & Sirius merger... FTW!!!!

How do you think that merger is going to do Eric? I think it'll be great, AS LONG AS, prices stay around where they are.

Do you both have XM? If I'd get anything, I think it'd be Sirius...b/c they have the NFL. Do either of you have that and like it?

I'm not sure if I want satellite or not. I like the one morning show I listen to on my way in, but the rest of the time I just get annoyed by all the commercials...commercial-free sounds nice. Plus, I can run the internet feed the rest of the day at work and cancel my Yahoo LaunchCast subscription.

Hmm...

Sirius FTW!!

Before I got this truck I only listened to XM on one road trip to Vegas and I wasn't all that impressed. I just thought people were dumb to pay for radio. Then I got my truck and it has a free 6 month membership to sirius and I am absolutly loving it. There has only been 1 CD put into my player and that's because the wife put it in.I think I'm going to be paying for it after my 6 months is up, they suckered me into it. I'm listening to it online as I type this!

The NFL channel is nice and so are the other 15 or so that air all of the NFLgames. I'm on the road a lot and I think it will be worth the $12-$13 a month for it.

I chopped mine like Frenchy did to his, then I painted it to fit the color of my truck as well, then stuck a dodge antenna ball on top of it lol. It actually didn't hurt my radio reception at all. I still listen to my radio stations I listened to before, of course whenever I do listen I only listen to AM....but from what I remember there wasn't a change in FM reception either.
