20" chrome RAM wheels mounted Finally! (PICS)
Definitly wide enough.
I like the Ram wheels, was actually going to steal a set off of some dudes truck here on campus.
HOWEVER, I'd prolly get into a lot of trouble because if that.

Looks very nice!! Since they are rubbing on the mudflaps why dont' you just takethe flaps off? You don't have any on the back so why not just take the front ones off too.

It would be a little tougher to keep the truck clean but in all honesty how well are those mudflaps really going to work with the tires as wide as they are? They stick out past the mudflaps from the looks of those pictures so he is going to be slinging stuff onto the truck anyway. The flaps will help some to eliminate it but I would rather run without them than to cut them or rub on them.
I must say itlooks awesome! I have a silver dakota as well and like the chrome wheels (which I'm getting shortly). I had the old Ram wheels but ultimately, I found them to be too bubbly for our vehicles and sold them.
The 285/50's are 3/4" wider and 3/4" taller than the stick tires, but they look a LOT bigger on the truck. I don't know how the 275/55's work without serious rubbing because they are taller.
Ilooked at other 20" x 9" wheels and the offsets were the same, ideally I would like them to tuck under more but then suspension clearance becomes an issue..
I think if I were to do it again I would get 265/50's which are the same height/width at the original 16's.
What I thought was weird is the 285's are cheaper than 265's, more rubber but cheaper, must be a more popular size therefore the higher price? I don't know.

have you ever taken those front mudflaps off??? The fender underneath is basically unfinished and if you drill out the rivets holding the flaps on you have to buy new ones to reinstall.

Did you find some used or did you get them from the dealer? What's a good price to pay for a set?
