Default Step up bars...

Ive been thinking of getting a set of step up bars, or nerf bars. I see the aftermarket ones on some of your trucks and I think they look kinda sagged, or too low under the body. Can anyone reccommend a brand? I was gonna buy a set of summit brand ones, but then held off. I cant justify spending more then $225 on these things. Are the mounts adjustable to get them closer to the body of the truck?

I haven't seen the westins on a dak in person but my friend's dad has had them on his GMC for about 3 years now. They're holding up very well and they snug up pretty close to the body, I'd definitely feel confident going with them.

I have the Nasta bars....I personally think if you get them too close to the body it defeats the purpose.

I have nerf bars made by Truck Tech, and I looked at them from the side and they don't sag at all, you just have to be sure you install them correctly. Like bullguards, I've seen a few trucks where the people installed the brackets wrong so the bullguard leans forward, looks crappy. I like mine, only $165!

I've got the same one's jimbo has. They are good value for the money because I wanted the look more than the use. I don't like the way they only have two mounts, one on either end. There isn't a center mount so they flex a little when you step on them. Only time I step on them myself is when I wash the top of the cab. Overall, good value for the $149 with shipping they cost me .

Sorry I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I have another qeustion... I was looking at them for a while, but I wanted all black ones to go with my truck...price isn't that much of an issue I'm willing to pay anywhere under about $400 for them but I'm afraid that if I get black ones they will get scratched up and it will look really crappy.

These are mine. As I said, they are cheap because I wanted look instead of use. You'll be fine getting powder coated, they are hard to chip and made for abuse. And if you go for a more expensive pair, I'd make sure they have three mounting points. These only mounted on front and rear cab bolts, a third mount be roughly where the two doors meet. Without the third mount, these tend to flex more than most people would like. And if you step over them, watch the backs of your pants legs...they'll be smeared with dirt constantly.

I agree 100%
I got a pair of Back Country black powder coated and there pretty snug to the body,if fact I think there a little to close.
Have you looked @ any on our Daks up close,I think that there all almost made w/ the same spec's.
