replacing stock rear shocks...
My shocks are holding up fine with the 2" blocks i have in the rear, but im looking for a stronger shock offroad. Its well known we cant even find an OEM replacement let alone one that will fit with lift blocks. My question is has anyone tried using OTHER shocks? What I mean is, my buddy that has an 04 toyota tacoma was telling me that when he did a 2.5" lift on his toy, that he mounted ford f-150 oem shocks to gain the larger shock needed. They were a direct bolt on.
Thats somthing that I wish I knew how to look into, but without litterally seeing the shock length and mounting setup, I really dont have a clue as to how to find that out.
Also, the TRX4 shocks, what makes them different then our stockers? I know they say "enhanced" or "Stronger". There not extended are they?

The TRX4 shocks are just high compression shocks for off-road use according to themanufacturer. Truthfully, you probably wouldn't notice a difference between them and what you have though. My Raider has those on it and no they are not any longer than the standard shocks because the rear height is the same as the standard Dak height. The front is a little taller but that's all.
