Default 170 degree club cab door hinges

Just wondering if any of you club cab owners have looked into getting the 170 degree door hinges that the 2007 dakotas have. I have looked on several oem parts web sites and the part numbers come up as for the quad cab. I did email the parts department at the dealer I bought the truck from so I am waiting for a reply. Has anyone looked into this?

I think it's only the '05s and earlier '06s that don't have them. I have a late '06 and mine are 170 degree.

Ya, they are expensive... if I recall, I think a guy looked the prices up, and it was like either 150 a side, or 300 a side.

I find the 170 degreerear door opening eluding. It’s kind of a two stage opening and I forget that it will open further so Irarely ever use it. Same with the two stage cargo gate. It is nothing but two mushroom like standoffs that the cables get caught on so it stops the gate from going down all the way. The door hinges are a mechanical work of art. I can see why they might be expensive but not worth the extra cost to change over. IMO

Yeah I believe it comes standard on the 07s but it was optional on the 05s and 06s....if I remember correctly....it may have only been optional on the 06s...

Yeah, I'm not sure. They came standard on my '06....but I have an SLT, so I wonder if that might've made a difference....maybe they weren't standard on the STs? I'm not sure, just throwing out a theory...

Mine doesn't have them.

The dealership that I bought the truck from said that if I put the 170 degree hinges on my 2005 dakota that it would void my warranty. What kind of crap is that! When I looked at a 2007 dakota club cab at the Philly auto show back in feb. I really liked the 170 degree hinges. I tend to put a lot of stuff in the cab especially if I'm going on vacation or a hunting trip so those hinges would be great for me. But how the hell can changing hinges void your warranty?

Walk into that dealership, with a copy of the Magnusson Moss Warranty Act... printed out, (you can find this Act via a thread stickied at the top of the Gen3 section) and tell them to shove it up their you know whats!

Then tell them you are going to a different dealer.
