Rancho Quick lift shocks update
Well just got the bad news today. Rancho has no plans to make there quick lift shocks for the dakota. I sent a reply saying that I hope they change their minds. I also asked why the suspension manufacturers continue to ignore the dakota. I wish I knew more about suspensions then I would design my own lift kit.
I have contacted a few suspension dealers ( TM, SkyJacker, Pro Comp) and they all say about the same thing for our trucks. The demand for them is not high and the way the front end suspensionof our trucks are designed, (not that it seems very different form any new trucks these days), it would be very costly to make and cost even more to buy.
Isnt this the least sucessful selling dakota generation by a land slide?
It only makes sense.
If it cost alot to prototype, and they dont think anyones going to buy it. Its really not enough thata dozen of us would buy it for sure lol.
Go with a body lift kit, and get some nerf bars to cover the frame and large tires. Then lay it all to rest. We are lucky we even have a body lift kit.

I guess I should have swapped out the 34 gallon gas tank for a smaller one on the 2000 chevy silverado Z71 truck I traded for the dakota. But I have to admit I do get better gas mileage in the dakota than I did in the silverado with 4.8L V8 and 5 spd manual. The only problem with the dakota is the ride height. Otherwise I really like this truck. Has anyone contacted Bilstein about their 5100 height ajustable shocks? I think I will give them a buzz and hope they have some sense and make those shocks for the dakota.
