Monroe Sensatrac's and leveling kit
I have been thinking about the Sensatracs coming out, the sensatrac technology has been around a long time and not exactly the ideal shock but for now the only game in town. They base the design on groves in the center of the travel to provide smooth ride and firm up as the strut compresses and decompresses on bumps. Now add the 2" level kit preloading the spring and the piston sits either at the limit of the grooves or out of the grooves depending on how long they are, and when compressed the piston travels thorough the grooved portion (soft dampening) before it hits the non grooved portion stiffening up.
Does this sound correct or have I had too many beers and over thinking it?
I want to try them (only because they are the ONLY option, and stock are truly trash)but am concerned about this point.
Thanks for letting me babble,
LB

if they aren't too terribly expensive, meaning like $300+ for a set, then i'd say try whatever you just said...just dont count on me understanding it...lol. i think you were talking about like the spring spacers having an effect on the stiffer struts.
How about the rear shocks in our daks?? I was thinking about replacing them with some rancho's, and was wondering (seeing how you can't order them for our dak's) if the ones that fit the 2nd gen daks would match up to ours. Any thoughts??
