Default lift block problems

For those of you who have put lift blocks in the rear of your daks, i was wonder if you know what they are made out of. I have some in the back of mine and they are made out of cast iron or pot metal. Anyways they keep cracking on me. Anyone else having problems with theirs or do I just keep getting junk ones?? I'm not driving hard at all and I have not gone off road since they have been in my truck.

The ones they sell at pep boys and autozone are billet aluminum I believe. Might want to give those a try.

I'm using aluminum blocks. They have been good so far. Ive done trailing, carried a few heavy loads, and the daily driving and its been fine, about 3,500 miles now I think.
