Default Intake problems???

i found an cold air intake off of ebay for the 3rd gen daks, however it doesn't come with the plastic (i guess you would call it a shroud) (the plastic piece that the K&N provides) The part that shields heat away from the air filter...
Any how is this necissary? would it be hard to fabricate one? will not having the plastic shield hinder the performance of the intake? There is also a dual intake???? any pro's or cons with either intake system???? Thanks

didnt we just go trough this like a week ago?

the dual intake on ebay would suck up alot of hot air due to it being right over both manifolds.

your intake without the heat sheld would have the same problem because there is nothing to seperate it from the hot air in the engine bay.

You can probably contact K&N and ask them if you can order just the heatshield. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to provide that. You just have to tell them which series intake you have.
