here is my deer from last season, as you can see from the bottom pic, his bases are as thick as a pop can...we hunt up in fairfax (osage county)...he was an 11 at 180 or 182 field dressed

here is mine from the year before the above (he used to be a 14 but we never could get a shot at him, till he got too old, we were after him for 7 years)

here is mine from the year before the skull mounted one

ya well, ted turner just bought all the land around us for a buffalo hunt...the lease was shot to **** when we got it 8 years ago...we made it what it is today. we also have an 8pt rule, nothing under an 8 gets taken...on any given day, a single person can shoot 20+ doe and a few young bucks, but we are really startin to see some monsters...the 2 days before opening rifle we saw a buck, i counted 8 on 1 side, then he disappeared from the edge of the 80 acre wheat field into the river bottom brush....from the other side of the field (400+ yrds) we first though "damn, a cow got out) and then we have a few 200+ doe...gotta keep them around, thats where the monsters are comin...the lease is 1k acres

not much into fishing...we have an abundance of all types of game on our lease....there is a group of 4-500 turkey that migrate the river....they are gauranteed to be in our rivver bottoms 3 days a week since it is their main roosting area and right in the middle of their usual "highway"...we got a huuuuuuuuge bobcat last year and shot about 6-7 coyotes....the coyote and my buck from last year will be here around archery...they are done, but i havent seen the mounts yet (sent them back to pennsylvania with my cousin that comes out that is in on our lease with us) then we have geese that stop in our ponds and anything else you can think of...now and then a cougar

it would be worth it to drive up to fairfax before the season begins and scout some public land up there. there is 1 motel in fairfax and its like $20-$25 per night with 2 beds and a bath and a tv (with hbo and cin)....its called the roller in....osage county has some of the largest bucks and best geenes in the state. actually, that is how we got our lease....the previous leesees got caught poaching, and they actually had what would have been the all around state record....boom, went up for sale and pow, got it....now ted turner owns some 10-15k acres all up surrounding us for a buffalo hunt im not complainin
