I asked because it looked like he relocated it further down and I didnt know if he had to extend them to reach

I also did the IAT relocate as well... moved the sensor about 16 inches towards the filter....wired the resistor in-line about 2 inches from where the original wire was cut at..

What watt resistor did you use ?

Man those things are cheap... found them for $0.03.

I thought I had read on either here or that other site that the PCM "learns" the trick quite quickly on our trucks and re-adjusts itself, rendering the mod useless- unless you keep restting your PCM....Anyone else read about this?

OK, the Resistor is a 4.7K Ohm resistor, 1/2 Watt minimum. Like Frenchy said, put it INLINE on one wire only, not across both wires. ANd no, you dont need to leingthen the wires, I will relocate my IAT further upstream too, when my CAI gets here. Like what Frenchy said, it makes the computer think the air is cooler. Dodges being Speed Density, rely on a MAF and the IAT to determine the volume of air going into the engine. Since the o2 sensor has final say on cruising mixture, and will not let the engine run rich, the engine ADVANCES the timing a little due to the cooler IAT reading, This advancement is what gains a little MPG. DOdges are tunes really conservative form factory, as is most new vehicles these days. Now, at WOT, the o2 sensor is not looked at by the computer, thus, with the IAT reading colder, now the engine gets more fuel, and more fuel = more power, especially usefull when a CAI is instaled because they let more WOT air in than the computer thinks.

SO, in recap, better cruise MPG through advancesd timing, and more WOT power due to more fuel. All for a .32 cent resister... Zippy Likes

PS, the PCM can not "learn around" this trick, because it deos not have another IAT sensor to compare from. It has to, by way of programming, take what the IAT says. Ever notice that when your truck is just warming up, temp needle just off the cold, it fels more peppy. Thats because the intake charge is cooler, the engine hasnt heated up enough to heat up the incoming air, and the computer is adjusting the timing for this cooler charge. IAT mod just makes it run like that all the time

The thing is I've heard that the ECM relearns with the JetChips too.I don't know how true that is.

I bought a resistor last winter for $20.00, but when I installed it, it set off the Check Engine Light, even after the reset. It's probably not the same one.

Got a question about this power wire thing. First do I need to relocate the iat sensor or will it work just as good where it is? Second I do mostly all city driving so would I see better mpg in city driving with this power wire?
