Default Fuse problem

Well the fuse blew on my electric fan again. I checked and rechecked all connections I am lost. I rewired everything last saturday. It ran great saturday afternoon until today driving home from work. I had to make a stop at a store on my way homeand didn't hear the fan running. So I popped the hood and checked the fuse and it was blown. Luckly pep boys was just up the street from the store I was at and I got a new fuse. I emailed flex-a-lite to see what they think. This is frustrating. It works for a few days and then the fuse blows. All connections are soldered so nothing is loose. I asked a tech at pep boys about changing the 30 amp to a 40 amp fuse and he didn't recomend it because something could get damaged. Maybe flex-a-lite gets cheap fuses I don't know. I'll see how long the pep boys fuse lasts.

yeah it sounds like it is drawing more than 30 amps, just above 30 amps maybe. I had this happening to me when I installed my off road lights. I put 4 lights on a 15amp fuse, and it kept burning out after a couple times of using it. I went ahead and went all out with a single fuse for all 6 lights, 80 amp. Have not had any problems since. If you put on a 40 amp fuse, it will allow for extra current to flow through, if ou have a short somewhere it will still go out so nothing should become damaged.

I 'll check flex-a-lite's site again but if it requires a 40 amp fuse why would they have a 30 amp fuse in the kit?

Heard from Flex-a-lite today. They said They just started shipping fans with a 40 amp fuse. I must have got an older one. So once they get a copy of my invoice they will sent me the right stuff. I can't wait that long so I bought a 40 amp fuse and holder and will use that until the new one comes from flex-a-lite.
