Default Muffler Questions

So I have a raider with just the muffler removed and the straight pipe in its place. I still have the 2 resonators in place but recently found out that when I go to get my truck inspected the next time I will need to have a muffler. I kinda want a flowmaster but am really unsure at which one to get. 40 series 50 series, I dunno which one. I love the sound of the truck now. I would like to keep it around the same. Should I look at maybe another muffler? For the flowmaster what should I get Center/offset/, offset/offset/, center/center? Thanks for any info.

im not sure how you inspections go. But when i used to live in Chicago, all they did was plau it in. they didnt do any visual inspection. as long as the OBD2 came back and said everything was ok, i was passed. Even in Cali, with the smog stuff... I was fine and i have a stright pipe as well on my dak

I was going to go with a Flowmaster 40 but I ended up going with a Vortex muffler (I forget which one). I love the sound of it, nice and deep. The guy at my exhaust shop recommended it over the Flowmaster, I've heard a few Flowmaster's before (not on our trucks but on rams and gms) and I definitely like mine better.

I went with the flowmaster 40, because it's loud. I removed both of my resonators as well, setting off car alarms while driving down the street. If you want a more smooth rumble without the loudness, go with the 50. I'm not sure about other mufflers, but I know Magnaflow is pretty good too...

it all depends on what kind of system you want. single or dual. if you go single go with the centered that what i have but mine is an imco system. if you go duals then there pretty much only one muffler to go with. also depending on where you want the tip to exit. in the dtock location or before the rear tire. but you cant go wrong with the center one.
