Default Durabak bed liner? ??

Has anybody ever done a do it yourself bed liner? i just read a few reviews about Durabak bed liners from a few different 4x4 mags. and it looks like a well made product.... opinions? can't afford to throw $400 down for a liner and the last plastic drop in i had in my Ram just blew up when i was on the highway.. (the dealer threw it in as part of the "deal") didn't care for it. had lineX in the past was really nice in my 4x4 chevy... lasted longer than the truck lol..

Wow, I dunno. How much would you be into the DIY for? I think I might have been in your boat at one time, but having bitten the bullet and gotten the Line-X I just don't have any buyers remorse at all. If its justa matter of money it might be better to just run without a liner for 6-10 months while you save up. Whatever scratches you get in your bed will just be covered up by the Line-X anyway and it'll look brandy new again. I bought my truck w/ 15k on it and the bed was USED, but looks new again w/ the Line-X.

My only concern w/ DIY is that if you ever decided you wanted to go Line-X later... it'd be practically impossible.

dont do it pay the money...i tried it with my old truck. took my time too. sanded down, cleaned with accetone, cleaned again with accetone taped it up, cleaned with accetone. put it on and removed the tape. Allowed it to dry..wow this looks nice. Got some free snapon tool boxes at work put them on the tailgate slid it into the bed... Mother #$&*^%*[:@] took off all 3 coats.

Save and have it professionally done like everyone is saying. They will guarentee it and thats the big one. I did a do-it-yourself kit as well and after a few jobs it started scrapping off like a bad spray-paint job lol.

I have a plastic bed liner on my dakota right now and thats fine with me, but in the future when its all destroyed by the sun and from loads, I will most def get a spray in done like Line-X, it in a way restores your trucks finish.

My father had his done from somthing other then Line-X, it was like XXX brand but a real company that does em like Line-X and its been great.

You can cut through even things like Line-X though, nothing is perfect, gotta be careful, but its a hell of a lot better.
