alrighty guys....got the borla muffler on, got the corsa tips on, got aluminized pipe (couldnt find a exhaust shop that bends stainless so buying it myself and having it bent was out of the ?), got the taillight covers on, a few days ago i put on the black antenna....i just washed my truck, didnt detail it....it needes a good detail but ill let the pics do the talking...enjoy and tell me what you think
btw, i love the sound this borla puts out, very throaty....i left the front reso on...quiet when sitting still, mean when driving
so you guys know, the borla mufflers for trucks are the turbo and turbo xl and proxs....if you have 3.5" pipes comin out from the headers then you can get the XR1 (racing, which i considered)....i did some research and actually was in correspondence with a borla rep for a few days...in short, the turbo xl is for very large v8s and v10s (so thats out of the ?)....he explained that the turbo and proxs will provide the same sound and basically are the same muffler and couldnt really give me details on the differences....he said they will perform and sound the same...so i went with the proxs
i cant get a sound clip right now...if i did, it would be with my phone, thats why i will wait till i get my gfs camera...my camera records video but without sound...it is VERY distinct and not something heard every day...it is very throaty...i did leave my front reso in....when at idle it is very quiet in the cab, when you step on it, it is very deep and mean...when accelerating hard and it changes gears (for the split second when it changes gears and the rpm goes from very high to low-med) that sound is VERY awesome....it sounds imo much better than flows or glaspacks or magnaflows ect....it is heard in the cab, but easily can be drowned out with the radio and forgotten about...now, i had my dad drive in front of me, and behind the vehicle, it is muuuuuch louder...sounds a lot meaner and the tone of the exhaust is very noticeable.... also, i had my muffler put on right in front of the rear pass wheel, as far back as i could....i love it and am glad i went with something uncommon....if you want it louder, take of the front reso as well (i may in the future, but i will keep it in case i change my mind again)

also, i had one ?....after i turn the truck off, if i walk by the rear end i smell something...didnt happen till i had the exhaust put on...im thinking its the smell of everything inside the new piping and muffler getting burnt (cleaned out) and is a temp thing till all the solvents/oils are dried up. am i correct? i dont remember smelling this with my last truck, but i may have just not noticed it.
wow your truck lloks great! i hope to get my exhaust soon i can't make up m mined yet what one to but... was your exhaust alot of $$$ i just washed and waxed and detailed mine on sunday and it rained last night. so i wasted like 3 hours.
I'm diggin the tail light covers... where did you get them?
And yeah, the smell is from any oils on the piping. If the Borla has packing material, some of that is going to initially burn as well...

I gotta admit, those tips at the stock exit location is pretty sexy. Lowering shackles would be hot with the look you have going, actually the TM kit would look sweet too, can't go wrong either way.
i cant lower it any, im off road and tow heavy heavy stuff ALL the time...french, thanks man, i really appreciate that...the covers gave the truck a whole new look...i just went outside and in the night you can actually see the running and brake lights pretty good, i may not have to rush on the fire&ice bar after all...
as for the tips, i love them, i will have to get some better pics of them for you guys...they are actually staggered for that exact exit point so both are visable easily. if they were on the other side, they would have mounted them so they were staggered the opposite way and if they came straight out the back they would be built to be even and not staggered...so you can say they are literally made for that spot...
and ive always liked black on cars, but a black and chrome theme...by my old truck you could tell i was addicted to that shiney metal....ive never been a huge fan of completely blacked out like this, but i am loving it...those lights really help the rear end flow a lot better

one thing i forgot to tell any of you that is interested in these is, look at how his covers say avs in the corner on the bump....mine did too...glass cleaner wont take it off, i tried...i took some nail polish remover without amonia and it worked great but be careful not to rub too hard, too long, or apply too much or else it will fade your covers..
