Default OBDII need help

Ok I have a question for you about our trucks....they are the 11-pin CAN-BUS system right. So any CAN-BUS reader will work for them? I know my wife's 2006 Jetta 2.5 is also a 11-pin CAN-BUS and I wanted to purchase a system that would work for the 2 of them rather than spend 300-600 bux for the VAG-COM. Thanks in advance

What are you looking to purchase this for? If it's just for reading CEL codes Autozone will let you use their code readers free.

yes. but it will only give you definitions for generic codes not manufacturer specific. it will give you any engine code but might not give you a definition of what it means if it's specific to chrysler, ford, etc. but you can look them up on internet. the vag com for vw's and audis will give you a lot more in depth info, but as you say will only work on those cars and more $$.

Take a look at some of these, just make sure the one you get supports C.A.N. http://www.autobarn.net/obdcoreandsc.html
