Default Question about leveling kit

Have a question about the trailmaster leveling kit. Did anyone read the ready lift discontinued post? The one reply from a guy who works for readylift and said the problem with the 4wd kit is the cv joints binding. I would like to know if anyone who has the trailmaster kit has any binding issues. To check all you need to do is jack up the front of the truck and spin the front wheel. Make sure you are in 2wd mode. If the wheel doesn't spin freely then you have a problem. I am going nuts about ordering the level kit. After reading the reply from the guy from readylift, I'm not sure if I should wait for their kit or just get the trailmaster kit.

My TM kit has been perfect for about 7k miles. Coil spring spacers are tried and true you know? You can go offroad with this kit, and they can handle heavy duty use like any most all spring spacer kits can. The readylift has been an on-road lift forever, and as the rep said for off-road use its been a no go.

I believe the readylift kit was similar to the truxx kit in that it mounts above the strut and spaces it downwards. This causes the suspension to drop lower at full extension which is what causes the binding. The TM kit can be installed above the strut also (the old way) or it can be installed as a spring spacer inside the strut (the new way). If you install it as a spring spacer it raises the truck by preloading the spring, which doesn't change the stock suspension limits. I don't see how the TM kit can cause binding issues if installed correctly. My dealer installed mine and they said it looked fine, only thing on my suspension not under warranty due to the kit is the struts themselves.

Mine has been on there for a year, and take it off paved roads at least once a week. And have had zero problems with anything binding. get the TM kit that mounts atop the strut but below the cap of the strut.

I would say the same as ALTAIR, get the TM, my mecanic told me that I shouldn't have any problem with this kits compare to some other he seen like the TRUXX I believe. He also told me that for warranty potential issue, that I could take the level kit off and they wouldn't be able to say anything at the dealer.

Every so often. Once, twice a month. Theres no guarentees on anything being 100%. The way I see it though, nearly everyone on here with the TM kit installed have had no problems. If your going to abuse the truck you would probablly mess up your front end just as fast with or without the TM kit you know?

Thanks for the info guys. I really only go off road once a year when I go hunting and the trails are mostly gravel with some deep ruts but not too bad so I think I will get the trailmaster kit and 1 inch block for the rear.

Glad I just read this post, I was going back and forth with ReadyLift and they kept telling me they were almost ready to release a Dakota leveling kit, but I plan on going off pavement with my truck, nothing crazy, but now that I know the ReadyLift won't be able to handle the off road beating, i'm definitly going with the TrailMaster.
