fan shroud ?

fan shroud ?

is it better to leave the factory shroud on or take it off with an electric fan installed?

I took mine off due to the fact that the electric fan I have would hit the protruding shaft from the water pump where the old mechanical fan would normally mount up.

I know with the flex-a-lite fan I have you don't need the factory shroud.

i took it off even with the factory one haha. .3 more horse power without the weight of the shroud? maybe.

umm... I dont think it would make more HP... but you did help out the power to weight ratio... I suppose

The big plastic Shroud... I don't see why taking it off would help any unless the fan was gonna hit the shroud...
