First mod for that truck should be an electric fan. My gas mileage on my truck with the 4.7L V8 went from 12 to 13mpg to 15 after the electric fan upgrade. Thats all city/ stop and go driving.

I saw that in my digging. What fan is used? RX-7's use a Ford Escort fan. Does the CAI do anything worthwhile? Is there a cat back available?

Frenchy used a fan off a 93? (I think) Lincoln Continental. I'm still trying to find one in a junkyard.

Oh, by the way. if you want good gas mileage... I suggest synthetic oil. Its the only mod I have done that I noticed a significant increase in MPG.. (like over 1 I consider noticable, over 2is significant to me. )
In the engine, tranny, diff, or all 3? Do they make a syn diff and tranny? I've never looked. Making a heavy syn for the diff shouldn't be difficult. It's one I wouldn't mind doing since it never gets changed anyway.

I bought a flex-a-lite #180 black magic fan. They are anywhere from $260 to $300. Alot of people on here got a junkyard fan which is fine. I prefered the flex-a-lite because its got a warranty and really good wiring instructions.

Well, as part of buying the truck, the dealer threw in 2 yrs worth of oil changes. I didn't see it on any of the paperwork and the dealer isn't anywhere near work or home so if they stiff me it's no biggie. I prefer doing it myself as opposed to sitting in a waiting room. If nothing shows in the mail by time the first change is due, I'll switch.

Now, who or what is a Frenchy? I'm only 1/4 French so I don't think it's me.
