Default 180 thermostate

what kind of performance gains will this give me. ive got an 06 quad cab 4x4 v8??

No real performance gains, just a more efficient motor.

yea, it takes about five minutes to swap them out. on the left is the 195 right is the 180. just cut a small notch in the 180 to match the 195 for the gasket.

do you have to drain the radiator to get to it? Also, what kind of efficiency are you getting? Plus what is the part number when I go to AutoZone? thanks in advance.

Yes you do have to drain it...

You can get the therm from NAPA.... I think the part number is like 50800 or something.....

Can't remember, been a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time since I switched mine out.

napa number is 530080. just ask for a 180 stat for a 5.2/5.9 motor they are the same for the 4.7. a cooler engine will produce a few more horses but not really noticable. also it does help out alot if you get a tank of really cheap gas. helps stop pinging

I know that this is probably a more expensive route, but go to JETCHIPS.com and you can order it for $30.00+, but it's the one that actually goes with our trucks.
