Default Bluetooth mirror and aftermarket stereo

I was wondering..I have a bluetooth mirror in my Raider. I know that the Uconnect Module is located in the passenger kick panel, not in the stereo. Wouldn't you think that you could replace the stock stereo with an aftermarket due to the fact that the module prob has a wire that just plugs into the stereo..Can't you just get the harness at Best Buy that plugs into the factory harness?

Well, it depends. Sometimes modules are specially designed and programmed to work with a specific system. This might be the case for this because you see the display of the bluetooth operations on the radio screen, and it automatically switches to phone mode when you receive a call. I would explore it a little more and also ask your dealer if the bluetooth can be transferred to another stereo. But my own opinion is that it's designed to work only with the stock head units.

according to directechs technotes, you will lose Uconnect functionality as well as any add on factory modules, I am guessing the Bluetooth is an add on and not a stand alone... If I could remember the password to directechs website, I'd let you look around... but its saved on my brouser and I dont remember it... something CREH8 something something something... I dont remember. I will dig around a little more and see if it says aything about a data bus wire (which is what I would assume the bluetooth transfers information through... maybe?)
If you're using firefox you can view any passwords you have saved in it. Go to the options and go to the security tab. Where it talks about the saved passwords click the button to view the passwords which will give you a list, then you have to hit the show passwords button to see the actual passwords.
