To the OP. First of all it sounds like you didn't negotiate very well. Secondly I would expect a Ranger to be cheaper. When was their last redesign? 99? They're much smaller and far less capable. The Canyon's and Colorado's can't get out of their own way, have fun with an inline 5 in a truck. The Dakota certainly isn't a POS I've found it to be a very capable truck. Just FYI the mileage isn't that bad, I get 16.5 mpg average in a V8 TRUCK. If you're looking for fuel economy you're barking up the wrong tree, keep in mind you bought a pickup, not a small car.

I test drove the new Tacoma before I bought my Dakota. I wasn't that impressed. The one I drove was just an extended cab V-6 6 sp....the X-Runner might be a bit more impressive. I'd actually like to drive one of the new Tundra's....I'm more impressed with that. Here comes my banning, too.
if you think our ground clearance is bad, dont even test drive an x runner. i saw one in person and they are LOW.... i like the trd's....

Ya..... uhmmm...

For future knowledge, do a little research, get the invoice cost on vehicles, and bring that in with you, watch what happens...

I got my Dak, fully loaded with EVERYTHING except leather and the 4.7HO for just over 23000 after tax title license, and a 4000 dollar rebate...

My truck sticker says 29,xxx....

So take that as you may, but a base model ST shouldn't run more than 21,000 USD... EVER.

I am getting kinda sick of listening to people (usually outside this forum) bitch about their gas milage. Want good gas milage, get a civic. Want to be comfortable when driving, have a vehicle able to do most anything, and call it a truck, deal with poor gas milage. As for the price people pay for their rides, its all buyer be ware. A new vehicle is prolly the second largest purchase your going to make, E D U C A T E Y O U R S E L F. You have all the tools available on the internet nowadays. There really is no excuse for people complaining in todays world.

I can understand people that are raising questions about their mileage... if they were getting like 10MPG and they were not a 2500/3500 towing at like max capabilities. (Of course, than I'd have to ask about their maintenance, or lack thereof)
But these people that buy trucks and are outright shocked that they don't get 23MPG city and 27MPG highway, I would love to knock some common sense into them.
And people that pay sticker price (or anywhere close to it) for a vehicle, much less a truck now that their having harder times selling them, I would just laugh at.
No excuse to be "suprized" by fuel mileage, the price you should pay for a vehicle or anything... simple research and posting (or even just looking) in a few forums, and you can usually find more than enough information. So I would say they got you, "hook, line, and sinker."

And all you that said you like Tundra and everything else, I'm definitly putting you all in for a ban

The ridgeline is NOT a truck, and should never be mentioned again
